To locate the filter on LG top lid washer, open the main lid from where you load the laundry, and you’ll find the filter(magic filter) as a round or rectangular attachment at the side of the drum.
To remove the LG filter press the lock and detach the filter that’s attached to the side of the tub.

The drain pump filter or lint filter on LG front load washers can be found at the bottom and in front of your washer.
Follow these steps to remove the filter on your LG front load washer.
- Turn off the washer and make sure the drum is emptied of any clothes or water
- Open the cover of the filter and place a little pan to catch any water that may pour out
- Pull out the drain tube inside the filter compartment and remove the plug at the tip.
- Use the pan to catch any water that may flow out.
- Turn the drain cap counterclockwise to remove it.
After removing the filter, you may find debris and other objects inside it. Clear the filter of all debris and wash it clean using water and a brush. After that, screw the filter back in place.
